This Privacy Policy explains how BOOST (“we”, “our”, “the Service”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our mobile application and related services. By using BOOST, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and name to set up your profile and authenticate your access to the Service.

1.2 Usage Data

We collect information about your goals, progress, participation in Boost Pacts, and app interaction to provide the core functionality of the Service, improve motivation features, and enhance your experience.

1.3 Photos and User-Generated Content

BOOST allows users to share photos taken live in the app solely to verify the completion of personal goals (for example, workouts or study sessions). Photos are private between users who are connected within a Boost Pact.

We do not:

  • Access your device photo library
  • Use your photos for advertising or commercial purposes
  • Sell, publish, or expose your photos to external parties

We may automatically analyze content if necessary to detect prohibited behaviors such as explicit content or harassment.

1.4 Device and Notification Data

We may collect device information such as push notification tokens to send reminders and updates.

1.5 Payment Data

All payments are processed by Apple or Google. We do not store or have access to your credit card information. We only receive transaction receipts from our subscription provider (for example, RevenueCat) to manage subscription status.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use personal data to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Allow participation in Boost Pacts and shared accountability features
  • Send reminders and motivational notifications
  • Offer support and respond to user requests
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve the Service
  • Detect and prevent prohibited activities

3. Content Safety and Moderation

BOOST is a platform for goal-oriented progress, not a dating or sexual platform. Users must only share appropriate, non-sexual content related to self-improvement.

Users can report inappropriate content or behavior directly in the app. In case of violations, we may:

  • Remove the offending content
  • Suspend or permanently ban accounts
  • Notify authorities if required by law

4. Age Restrictions

BOOST is intended for users aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors under 16. If we learn that a minor has used BOOST without permission, we will delete the account and associated data.

5. Legal Basis (GDPR – Europe)

Residents of the European Economic Area have the right to:

  • Access their personal data
  • Correct or update incorrect information
  • Request deletion of their account and data
  • Request data portability

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is securely stored on managed cloud infrastructure (for example, Supabase). We implement industry-standard protections to prevent unauthorized access.

When you delete your account, your personal data is permanently erased after 30 days from our active databases.

Our data practices as shown in the App Store Privacy Nutrition Label accurately reflect this Privacy Policy.

7. Third-Party Services

We may use trusted third-party companies to support the Service and analytics, including:

  • Apple / Google – in-app purchases and platform integration
  • Supabase – data storage and authentication
  • RevenueCat – subscription and purchase validation
  • Expo – push notifications infrastructure

These providers act on our behalf and follow strict confidentiality and data security obligations. Data, including photos and user-generated content, is processed and stored on EU-based servers whenever possible. If data is transferred outside the EU, safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses are applied.

8. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect improvements or regulatory changes. Updates will be posted on this page with a new “Last Updated” date.
